Princeton, NJ, 11/19/2017 – Tony Kanterakis will be officially opening Local Greek, a new bistro, bakery, market and at 44 Leigh Avenue in Princeton on November 19th. The opening day event takes place from 2PM to 5PM and will feature a free sampling of the menu items. The ribbon cutting is to be held at 2:30 PM.

Local Greek will serve authentic Greek cuisine. Their specialty offering is Greek meze, also known as tapas, small, flavorful dishes made to be shared, available every day from noon to closing. The restaurant will have a meze menu with 30 options that will be changed weekly. Menu will be available online at

The meze menu for opening day will include moussaka, oven-baked lamb and potatoes, yemista (stuffed tomato and peppers), marinated octopus, Soutzoukakia (Cretan style meatballs with tomato sauce), Greek style dips including tzatziki, eggplant and spicy feta, Loukaniko sausage and fava puree topped with octopus and caramelized onions.

The new location has community-style seating that will give customers the opportunity to enjoy fine Greek cuisine with their neighbors. Catering, pick up and free delivery will also be available.

Sweet and savory homemade style pastries and desserts will be made fresh daily in the restaurant’s bakery, best paired with a frothy cup of Portioli style espresso imported from Milan. The market will carry imported goods including Greek chocolates, tea, snacks and baby food.
